I was told I'd have to marry a farmer
or inherit a fortune.
Neither of those things happened.
My husband Benjamin and I started with nothing but student loan debt and a single income of $13.50 an hour. Today, we run Great Heritage Farm LLC — 144 acres nestled in southern Minnesota — raising grass-fed beef, pastured pork, raw milk, and eggs for our family and a wonderful community that has become dear to us.
The longer I live, the more I see God's hand in all of it — in the struggles, the mistakes, and the many blessings. Every hard season grew us in ways the easy years never could.
"Leah, stop trying to do everything on your own! Successful people don't work alone — they collaborate. Open your life up, find a community, and watch how you flourish."
The advice that changed everythingThat's the heart of MakeIt US. We are stronger when we work together. I care deeply about community and creating spaces where people can grow and support one another.
